The Daily Beast has recently reported as-of-yet unconfirmed rumors that Kate Middleton and Prince William might announce their engagement as soon as June.

Just to clear the air, there has really not been any announcement of an engagement between Prince William and Kate Middleton yet. However, Kate Middleton and Prince William are together for 7 years, and an engagement would not be unexpected.

Is it time for fans to start putting away instant money to get a glimpse of the wedding? What are the rumors for and against a Kate Middleton/Prince William engagement?

Who is Kate Middleton?

Kate Middleton, with the legal name of Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, and Prince William met at the university of St. Andrews.

They started their courtship in 2001 and, besides a short breakup in 2007, are together ever since. Kate Middleton’s parents were married in 1980, and after founding their own mail-order business with a short term installment loans>, became millionaires.

Within the years past of her relationship with Prince William, Kate Middleton has complained about media harassment.

In February of 2006, Kate Middleton was given special 24-hour security detail. This move stoked many rumors that Kate and William would become engaged, but they did not. Kate Middleton also accompanied Prince William to Royal events not helping their case.

Prince William and Kate Middleton engagement?

The Daily Beast reported today that “high-level officials” had indicated that Kate and William may be announcing their engagement on June 3 or 4. To support this rumor, they point out the royal calendar has been blocked out for those two days. A June engagement would also indicate a November wedding, which would fall after a difficult election and before William becomes an operational pilot for the Royal Air Force. A November wedding however, as pointed out by the Daily Mail, would interfere with his search and rescue pilot training. Whether they announce an engagement or not, it is almost positive the press will once again be giving this young couple a lot of attention.
